Connecting with young people through detached based outreach, schools work and mentoring.

Age: 11-25  Areas: Carrickfergus, Larne and Ballymena

YMCA Outreach works across Mid & East Antrim to engage and support young people who don’t normally access youth services on their own terms, within their peer group and within their own communities.

We do this through a variety of detached and outreach based support methods.

Funded by the Education Authority and Mid & East Antrim Borough Council.

Detached Outreach

The Outreach team can be found out on the streets across Mid and East Antrim, whether that’s Ballymena, Carrick or Larne, engaging with young people to get involved in diversionary activities.

Schools Outreach

Building positive relationships with young people in schools across Mid and East Antrim during lunch, the team will be found in the playgrounds of Carrick Academy & St. Killians during term time.

Mentoring & One 2 One Support

Working from a strengths based approach we work with young people on a 1 2 1 basis to understand their own unique strengths and make decisions that help them belong, contribute and thrive.

Group Work

The team have a wide range of informal education and diversionary activities, including the Cage football & activities trailer. With special focus on Good Relations and Drug & Alcohol training.
